Originally known as GageTalker, the CimWorks division of GE Fanuc has continued on with the developement of their state-of-the-art data collection hardware and software.
The digital GagePort continues to set the bar as the world's best gage interface box. If you have a gage or any device with an RS-232 output, the GagePort can interface with it. The GagePort defaults to a Mitutoyo style input, so if you have a Mitutoyo gage and a Mitutoyo cable, you can interface directly with the GagePort.
For gages other than Mitutoyo, as long as it has an output, the GagePort can interface with it through a GE Fanuc FlashCable. A FlashCable is a cable designed specifically for a certain gage. It has the appropriate connector for that gage, and has an eprom chip on the other end that is programmed to read that gage's specific data stream.
GE Fanuc's data collection software is Proficy ShopFloor SPC. Formerly known as VisualSPC, ShopFloor SPC is now part of GE Fanuc's suite of software products known as Proficy. Proficy ShopFloor SPC kept intact the backbone of what made VisualSPC so popular, its ease of use and its extreme flexibility. Set up your data collection routines how you want, showing the data you want, connecting to the gages of your choice through GE Fanuc's GagePorts.
Proficy ShopFloor SPC writes data to either a SQL, Oracle, or MSDE database. Because of this, the data is now available for other software packages like GE Fanuc's RealTime Information Portal. Portal is a web-based reporting software that allows users within a company to be able to generate reports on your collected data through a web browser. Now, sharing data reports has never been easier, just send a link to a co-worker.
